Welcome to the online portfolio of Giancarlo Deleon, an independent freelance designer. Living in Charlotte, I've seen small businesses succeed and fail in an ever-growing city. A key to those that succeed is a well-composed integration of design and business practices. My focus is to deliver design solutions to the needs of my clients. Having studied and recently graduated from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has increased my desire to start a business. Therefore, I understand the challenges that entrepreneurs face. I enjoy meeting my clients face-to-face, creating a dialog, and setting up an overall solution. Journey Into Asia T-shirt
You know, when you work on a lot of websites, it is always nice to go back to the fundamentals, drawing. But it all started with theme for the 2009 Journey Into Asia cultural show. This theme, TIMELESS was created to describe the endless interaction between our history and the present. For a description of the theme and design, click on the image above to visit my portfolio.

The Sleeping Beauty Flyer
To create more buzz for the event, I decided to create two flyers using the same characters from the JIA t-shirt design. This version incorporates the young woman who is sleeping. Nothing special just re-uses the character and incorporates a pink scheme.

The Guardian Lion Flyer
This is the second flyer. The flyer features the head of a traditional Chinese Lion Dance and uses a blue (UNC) scheme. I really enjoy how these two flyers came out, they almost seem like collectibles; and each highlights the importance of either history or the present.
