That pretty much sums it up. I just love design!
Welcome, my name is Giancarlo Deleon and I am a web developer based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Here you will be able to gain a better understanding of the experiences that have helped shape my passion for both web and graphic design. I believe that God, my experiences, mentors, friends, and most of all, my family have helped me to grow to become the person that I am today.

Background
As a child, my favorite activity was drawing. I believe that my interest was formed during primary school when teachers setup different areas that featured varying activities. Drawing gave me freedom to be creative without bounds.
Once introduced to graphic editing programs for computers, I began to extend my view of design. My projects for school always looked great because I had such attention to detail, although my teachers at times thought that I had my parents doing the work for me.
I'd say that I have had two pivotal points in my life concerning design. One occurred when my father decided to sign me up for a summer course on HTML at a local community college. I was 11, and thought camps and video games were the activities of summer. But in the end, I enjoyed the class. I started creating very simple websites and slowly improved my abilities. Fortunately for me, I've grown up in a time where the internet itself is also growing and improving. I have been able to see the evolution of web design and have been able to also improve my own abilities. I always smile when I look back and think that a short course on HTML when I was very young has lead me to meet so many wonderful people and share my gift of web and graphic design with them. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with how everything has turned out.
The second important point in my life concerning design came in high school. I had the wonderful opportunity to take a set of classes that dealt with Science Visualization. It is not just an art but a way of thinking about the world around us. Rick Lacek was not only a teacher but a mentor in some ways. During class, we all had fun and made jokes; we were all teenagers after all. But when it came to it, I believe we all respected Mr. Lacek. He always spoke about being prepared for the future. Of course he helped by introducing me to many new graphic programs, which I now use to create my products.
Present
After graduating from the Kenan-Flagler Business School @ University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, were I worked for the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures (ROML) as a Web Application Developer, I moved back home to Charlotte, NC for a brief time before starting work. In my time at home, I worked on many websites for both ROML and myself. Through constant projects, I've been able to keep my abilities sharp. With the University, there are strict guidelines that I must follow that also factor into what I can do with department websites. Unlike University assignments, my only guidelines when it comes to my personal clients, come from my imagination and my clients desires.
Something else I was able to do in my time after graduating was travel. One of my favorite things to do. I was able to spend time in both Spain and in Japan. Those were wonderful trips. If you get a chance, be sure to check out my blog to read about my adventures in both countries...I took some pretty good photos and was sure to write a lot about everything I did!
Again, I love my job and hope that I can help your business or organization realize its potential. After all, I understand what it means to be an entrepreneur. Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions, comments, or have any ideas on future projects that we can work on together.
Best Regards,
Giancarlo Deleon
